Followers Aren't Friends

You can have hundreds of followers.

Thousands of likes.

Plenty of group chats, threads, and texts.

And still feel lonely.

Because followers aren’t friends.

Online connection gives us visibility — not intimacy.

It keeps us updated, entertained, and distracted…

but it doesn’t give us the kind of support that shows up when life gets hard.

Real friendship still requires time together.

Shared experiences.

Those small, slightly awkward moments that build trust over time.

This isn’t a personal failure.

It’s a byproduct of how modern life is set up.

Try this: Commit to one micro-step: one IRL encounter this week.  A trip to the grocery, a personal visit to the bank, an in person class.  Getting out and engaging in the real world will help you nudge momentum in the right direction.
